Synopsis

This farce, set in the 1920’s, is about a father’s attempt to marry off his daughter to his bashful business partner. The girl prefers a man of the world. So, a story is contrived that the partner had a love affair with a movie star. All goes well until the movie star and her jealous boyfriend arrive in town.

It was at the President’s speech before the start of this play that the President Lewis Stevenson, announced a play writing contest. Entries were due by the 31st of October and should be submitted to the public library to Miss Nellie E. Parham. First prize will be $75. 00 and Second Prize will be $25.00 and honorable mention for third place.
