Synopsis

“Steel Magnolias” tells the story of a group of gossipy Southern ladies in a small town beauty parlor where they share their lives and loves. The play is deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness that underline the antic banter of it characters. The sudden realization of their mortality draws on the underlying strength and love that the characters share through good times and bad.

Steel Magnolias Preview (Curtain Calls 4.3, September 2008)

The 86th Season at Community Players officially opened with “Steel Magnolias.” This show featured the return of Players’ veteran actress Rosemary Luitjens after a five year absence. A talented group of five veterans and one newcomer were selected from the 30 actresses who auditioned. Marketing Chairman, Elizabeth Aronson created special “Steel Magnolia” ink pens to distribute to local beauty parlors to promote the show.
