Side by Side by Sondheim Preview (Curtain Calls 5.6, March 2010, p. 3)

“Side by Side by Sondheim” was selected to help celebrate one of Broadway’s most renown composers on his 80th Birthday. On March 21st, a special presentation “Sondheim at 80: An appreciation of Broadway’s greatest Composer” was held. The guest speaker, Robert McLaughlin, was at that time writing his book Stephen Sondheim and the Reinvention of the American Musical (University of Mississippi Press, 2016). Four days later, the musical revue featuring Sondheim’s early works was presented for a three day run. “Side by Side by Sondheim” marked the directorial debut of Sherise Kirvan.
