Synopsis - Glory of the Morning
This play is based on early Wisconsin history and was first presented by the Wisconsin Players. The actions center about the Chevalier’s desertion of his Indian Wife, Glory of the Morning, and his attempt to take both of his half-breed children back to France.
Synopsis - The Man Who Married a Dumb Wife
This story, presumably of the Middle Ages, centers about Catherine Botal, who was dumb. Her husband desired that she be given speech. When the surgeons and physicians accomplished that feat, she talked incessantly. Then he asked that she be made dumb again but that was impossible, so they made him deaf, and he became possessed of a “sweet and pleasant cophosis.”

Historian’s Corner
An evening of two one-acts was performed by the Players at the Garden of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Bach. The entrance to the Garden was located at 1110 East Olive Street. A limited number of single admissions were on sale at the public library on Monday, July 23, and at the entrance on Tuesday evening. The cost of the tickets was $.50. There was seating for 300. During the intermission, President Carl Voorman predicted a great future for The Community Players.
