The Little Mermaid staff is looking for youth through adult age performers to fill the roles below in our upcoming show.

General Audition requirements:

  • Minimum age for the adult cast will be 13.
  • After casting the show, a few select children of cast members  may be asked to participate in certain scenes at the digression of the production staff.  No more than 5 children.
  • Flounder should be a boy with an age range between 8-13.

Adult Auditions:
During each audition night, there will be 3 different parts to the audition process.  You only have to attend 1 audition night, not all three.

  • Vocal Auditions:
    • Please be prepared to sing 30 seconds-1 minute of a vocal selection that you feel best showcases your talent.  This will be a closed audition with you only singing in front of key production staff members.   Please make sure your music is clearly marked with stop and start points and any cuts.  Sheet music must be in the key you will be singing (no transposition).  A capella auditions are discouraged.
  • Dance Auditions:
    • There will be a dance audition each night that will be mandatory for all adult cast parts.  Please bring appropriate clothes and shoes for the auditions (no jeans, flip flops, etc)
  • Read Through Auditions:
    • Each person auditioning will be asked to read through select scenes from the show.  Selected scenes will be passed out on the night of your audition.  Please focus on articulation, projection and show us your character!

Call backs will be conducted Wednesday night after the normal audition process for that evening is complete.  This can include singing selections of songs from the show for specific roles and/or additional readings.  If you are selected for a call back you will be provided the music selection.

Flounder Auditions:
Auditions for the role of Flounder will be similar to Adult Auditions with the difference being that Flounder Auditions will not include a Dance Audition. There will not be call backs for the role of Flounder unless deemed necessary.
